IBM Notes 9 FP7 - Issue Attachments Send from Windows Explorer and Hidden Attachments Fields

After installing the IBM Notes FP7 release today I stumbled upon two issues whereby I could use some help. The first issue concerns sending selected Attachments (files) from Windows Explorer. After the installation of the IBM Notes 9 FP7 release it occurs that the selected attachment(s) sent from the Windows Explorer (Menu - Send To - Mail recipient) are added both above the header as well as in the body of the email. This behavior did not occur in the previous IBM Notes release. Has anyone also noticed this issue after installing the IBM Notes FP7 release?

1. Select Attachment from Windows Explorer (Send to - Mail recipient)

2.  Email
Attachment(s) are added both above the header and in the body of the Email.

3.  Hidden Attachment Fields
The second issue I noticed is that since the installation of the Notes Domino FP7 release hidden attachments fields in documents are displayed at the bottom of these documents.

In  the database the Attachment field (Rich Text Field) is hidden on the Notes form. Yet the Attachement (hidden Field) is shown below on the form.

This is a major problem given all the databases have the same structure and design. This behavior did not occur in the previous IBM Notes releases (Fix Packs). Anyone have an idea how this can be resolved in the Notes Fix Pack 7 Release ? Am I doing something wrong or are these indeed issues in the Notes FP7 Release.

  1. Hello,
    i've already openend a PMR # 62714,073,724 (FP7 Issue with attachment display) at 16.09.2016.
Meanwhile there already exists a fix (SPR #RGAUADUM59) for this problem.
But IBM doesn't actually want to release another Interim Fix... Hopefully they change their mind.

    2. We were skipping FP7 anyway, one more reason to support that decision.

  2. I have the same attachment bug in an application that has a richtext field on a form with the field security option "Must have at least Editor access to use." set.
A 'Shadow' attachment icon is shown below a page break...
I first thought the application somehow duplicated the attachment after a background update of the attachment but deleting one deleted both.
Hope an interim fix will solve it.

    1. Thanks for your response. I also tried to remove one attachment with the same effect. We definitely need a quick Interim Fix in order to solve this problem.

    1. Hi,
So you mean FP8? "The fix is integrated into FP8 and it solves the described problem."

We're facing the doubble attachment issue when forwarding an e-mail. So we have to get a fix asap, because this issue is impacting the core process into the customers ERP.

  6. We won't rollout FP7 for that reason, waiting for FP8 as we don't want to use Hotfix on 10.000 Clients
